ABOUT US

BKB Chemicals

Faced with climate change linked to excessive use of petroleum resources, BKB offers alternative biosourced molecules that are more respectful of the environment.

Backed by its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, BKB relies on a circular bioeconomy model to meet consumer needs.

BKB is therefore part of a concept of naturalness for the good of Man and Society.

HISTORY

This initiative, which originated with BKB, began in 2017 with the OL2G project led by Michael Jordy Ratsimbazafy a student-entrepreneur in Chemistry at the University of Lille.

In 2018, the project joins the incubator Cré'innov incubator to be supported by experts in the development of innovative scientific projects.

After several months of technological maturation, the finally saw the light of day in 2020 under the name : BKB , which stands for "Build chemistry from biomass!".

STRATEGIC COMMITTEE

Prof. Franck Dumeignil

Scientific Advisor

Director of the Catalysis and Solid State Chemistry Unit at the University of Lille, Franck has a wealth of international experience in the field. internationally experience in the field of biosourced chemistry, including the coordination of major projects (EuroBioRef, REALCAT, etc.). He is the author of 5 patents and 33 publications concerning the advanced valorization of glycerol, i he won the Glycerin Innovation Award presented by the American Oil Chemical Society in Orlando, USA, in 2015, rewarding scientific projects with demonstrated applicative scope.

Serge Ratton

Industrial Strategy Consultant

A former R&D director at RHODIA and Rhone-Poulenc, Serge is a chemist with over 45 years' experience in R&D strategy in the chemical industry. He received the "Grand Prix de Chimie Industrielle" awarded jointly by the Société de Chimie Industrielle in 1996, and the "Prix de l'ADEME" in 1998, for the development of a zero-discharge Friedel & Crafts process.

TECHNOLOGY

To respond effectively to the challenges of tomorrow, BKB relies on strong R&D.

Innovative, robust and environmentally-friendly process.

BKB's R&D team of experts works every day to optimize processes with the aim of enhancing technical performance while reducing environmental impact.

Transformation of renewable raw materials using catalytic processes that optimize energy costs.

Business model based on the recovery of industrial by-products, reducing waste incineration and carbon dioxide emissions.

CERTIFICATION

Production of certified biosourced molecules that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and are of known origin.

Sustainable use of natural resources, offering opportunities for growth and job creation.

FUTURE PRODUCTS

BKB's technology enables the recovery of biomass, including glycerol which is an agro-industrial waste product. BKB's innovative processes enable the design of different types of natural molecules with a biobased carbon content > 99%. As these natural molecules are replicas of those derived from petroleum, their direct adoption is easy. Their reduced ecological footprint is highly attractive to customers who are increasingly concerned about environmental protection and appreciate proactive companies in this field.

The smallest of the alpha-hydroxy acids, glycolic acidis used as an exfoliant and anti-aging in the field of cosmetics. We obtain it by processing ingredients of organic origin.

A three-carbon unsaturated monoacid, acrylic acid is used in a number of fields, including cosmetics, paint, water treatment, superabsorbents, glue and adhesives.
